Hamamatsu Japan

We just wanted to say "thank-you very much" to our Sunday School class from back home! You guys are so wonderful and we miss you all!!! We got a suprise care package from them a couple of weeks ago and it really meant a lot to us. We are really enjoying everything that we got! Well, that's it for now! We hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving! God Bless you all!

We made our own gyoza!!! This batch came out much better than the first one that I made a few weeks ago. (I didn't take a picture of those....they were really burned!!) I did get these a little too dark, but I made them again the night after and I really got it right that time! They still tasted wonderful and I can't wait to make them for everyone when we get back home!!!

This is rice that was just harvested.

I (Shelly) took this picture at Lake Sanaru, here in our city.

Aaron took this picture while riding the shinkansen.

This is the Hamamatsu shinkansen (bullet train) station. There is no train here yet, but I just thought you'd like to see it!

Hello everyone! Ok, I am finally updating the last of the latest pictures that we have taken. Everything is going good here! We are so happy that the Bucks won this last Saturday!!! Yeah! We bought the game on iTunes so we have it forever now! Anyways, this is just a picture we took of some planes flying over our house a couple of weeks ago. Pretty cool!

The Saturday after my parents left, Aaron had a Yutaka party to go to. They celebrated their 20 year anniversary with a party at the Grand Hotel in Hamamatsu. Asimo was there (Honda's robot)-it was his first visit to Hamamatsu! He can do all kinds of cool stuff, including kicking a soccer ball!

We did a lot more things with my parents, but we used our video camera, rather than our regular one! Mom and dad got more pictures, so you'll have to ask them to see theirs! We took them to Osaka aquarium and Himeji Castle. We did some shopping and took them around our town as well. They were also here on my 25th birthday! I never would have imagined that we would all be in Japan, eating ramen on my birthday!!! We had a great time, though! As some of you know, my brother, Matt, is coming in mid-December and my mom is going to join him! We are looking forward to that!

What a beautiful woman! :)

Bamboo!

What a good looking group of guys! If you look closely in the water, there are big fish!

Here we are at Hamamatsu Castle!

We took a walk through the park and then went to Hamamatsu Castle.

Conner is so happy to see his Grandma and Grandpa! (So were we!)

Here we are! This was my mom's first trip to the ocean. It was also Conner's first time to put his feet in the water. He was so scared, but once he did it, he didn't want to take his feet out!!!

Here's Mt. Fuji just a couple of weeks ago. It was snowing on the top of the mountain! Now, it is completely covered with snow!

A few weeks ago, everyone was having their fall festivals. We were fortunate enough to attend 2 of them with Emi and Greg. We all really enjoy going and seeing all the floats and hearing the music.

Wow.....we love Japan because it is so beautiful!

Here are the gyozas ready to be cooked!

One of our favorite foods here is gyoza. In America, they are usually called potstickers. We wanted to learn how to make them so that when we get home we can still eat them! So our wonderful Japanese teacher, Sasaki Sensei, invited us over to her house and she and her husband taught us! We had a lot of fun! Since then, we have made it twice at home, and they have been good.....but not as good as Sasaki Sensei's!

And now it's my turn.....

Hello!!! I feel like the last 10 times that I have blogged I have to start with an apology! This one is no different-I am so sorry it's been a month and a half since I last blogged. I have a ton of pictures to post, so I am sure it will take me a few days to get them all on here! So much has happened in the last few weeks. My (Shelly) parents were here for a week and a half in October. We had a lot of fun! Fall has finally come to Japan. It's in the 70's and sunny (sorry, Ohio people!) and we are enjoying a perfect view of Mt. Fuji almost every day, from our balcony. Conner is, well....he's good, but the terrible two's have definitely made their debut. What fun!! Well, this is a picture of Aaron at Kakegawa Castle. We went there to film part of a movie that CYT is making.
